When a local restaurant group was interested in expanding to a new location and concept, big branding and even bigger ideas were needed. The world of tiki bars is crowded with clichés and overused ideas, but there was need for something that was fresh and modern with unique illustrations and appeal. The song “the Love Shack” by the B-52’s was a fun jumping point.
mission
Creating a full experience from a song was a challenge in itself, and transforming an existing modern space into a themed tiki experience was the real struggle. In the end the appeal of a mid-century modern style worked well against specific tiki design elements.
